北海道石狩低地帯南部の41~51年生のカラマツ人工林において, 林内への広葉樹の侵入過程を明らかにするため, 施業履歴, 林分構造, 広葉樹の樹種構成, 樹齢, 埋土種子の種組成を調べた。広葉樹の密度は, 林床にササが優占する林分で小さく, ササ類は広葉樹の更新に負の影響を与えていると考えられた。広葉樹の更新個体数は, 間伐後に増加する傾向が顕著であり, 間伐は広葉樹の更新契機になっていると考えられた。また広葉樹の樹種数は, 間伐にともなって階段的に増加しており, 特にギャップ種は, 初回の間伐以降に樹種数が増加していた。埋土種子の種構成は, 広葉樹の樹種構成とは類似しておらず, カラマツ人工林内での広葉樹類の更新には, 種子バンクの寄与は小さいと推察されたが ...
