The Effect of Monensin, Lasalocid and a Monensin/Lasalocid Rotation of Fungal Population in the Rumen of Concentrate and Roughage Fed Steers [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة جامعة النجاح للأبحاث العلوم الطبيعية, 1996
Two studies using three ruminally cannulated beef steers in the first one fed a roughage diet (98% chopped alfalfa at maintenance) and 12 beef steers in the second fed limited ration (85% adlib intake) composed of 90% concentrate diet (80% cracked corn ...

Trends in Veterinary Drug Residues in US Cattle: Analysing USDA Sampling Data. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
National US residue monitoring data (2021–2023) were analysed to characterise veterinary drug residue detections in cattle. Detection patterns varied by cattle type, with dairy cows accounting for the highest number of detections and a consistent group of commonly used drugs responsible for most violative and non‐violative findings.

Structural Basis of Sequential Enantioselective Epoxidation by a Flavin-Dependent Monooxygenase in Lasalocid A Biosynthesis. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
Lsd18 is a flavin‐dependent monooxygenase from Streptomyces lasalocidi that performs two enantioselective epoxidations during lasalocid A biosynthesis. X‐ray crystal structures of Lsd18 bound to a substrate and product analogue illuminate how this enzyme performs multiple epoxidations on the same substrate molecule and how it controls stereoselectivity.

Experimental determination of comparative sensitivity of eimeria to chemotherapeutic preparations and phytobiotics [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2022
The sensitivity of the organism of broiler chickens artificially infested with a mixture of three types of eimeria to anti-eimeria drugs used in the Belgorod region was determined.

Safety and efficacy of a feed additive consisting of Bacillus velezensisNRRL B-67647, Bacillus pumilusNRRL B-67648 and Bacillus licheniformisNRRL B-67649 (Microsaf®) for chickens for fattening, other poultry for fattening and ornamental birds (S.I. Lesaffre). [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA J
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of Microsaf® when used as a feed additive for chickens for fattening, other poultry for fattening and ornamental birds.

Copper(II), a Peculiar Metal Ion for Complexation With Monensin A Ionophore. [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry
Copper(II) forms three chiral and EPR‐active complexes with monensinate A in methanol. Beside the bis [CuL2] and mono [CuL]+ species, the new dinuclear construct [Cu2L]3+ exhibits an [ML]+‐type and a metal salt‐type copper(II) centers weakly bound to each other through counter ion(s) and thus, being magnetically independent.

P450 Enzyme LyoI Performs Hydro-2,2'-Bifuran Oxidation in the Polyether Ionophore Lysocellin. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
In a study of the biosynthesis of the polyether ionophore lysocellin, the P450 enzyme LyoI was found to catalyze a rare oxidation of a hydro‐2,2′‐bifuran moiety to its hemiketal form. The oxidation was identified as the key for unlocking the bioactivity of lysocellin.

The co‐administration effects of florfenicol and lasalocid on performance, biochemical and pathological parameters of muscle, heart, liver, kidney and sciatic nerve in broiler chickens

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, 2022
The study aimed to examine the effect of simultaneous application of florfenicol and lasalocid on the performance and vital organ function of chickens. For this, 300 chicks were divided into four groups. Group one to three received florfenicol, lasalocid

Lasalocid Toxicosis in Dairy Calves [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Diagnostic Investigation, 1993
In February 1990, a 1,500 milking cow dairy in the California Central Valley changed from feed containing monensin to feed containing lasalocid to 350 head of 2-4-monthold calves of both sexes. The lasalocid was mixed at the feed mill with corn and barley and pelleted.
