Mode-Locked Laser Dynamics

2017
In this chapter the dynamics of a passively mode-locked semiconductor laser will be studied using the model presented in Chap. 2.

Thermal behavior and fluid dynamics within molten pool during laser inside additive manufacturing of 316L stainless steel coating on inner surface of steel tube

Optics and Laser Technology, 2021
In this study, a transient mesoscale model of the laser inside additive manufacturing (LIAM) has been proposed by the finite volume method (FVM) to investigate the evolution of molten pool morphology.

Laser dynamics in organic distributed feedback lasers

Applied Physics Letters, 2006
The authors study laser dynamics in a polymer distributed feedback resonator by performing pump-probe experiments. They measured the population kinetics in the device under lasing operation with subpicosecond time resolution. By modeling the system with a set of coupled rate equations, which account for stimulated emission and nonradiative decays, they

Two-photon laser dynamics

Physical Review A, 1995
Degenerate as well as nondegenerate three-level two-photon laser (TPL) models are derived. In the limit of equal cavity losses for both fields, it is shown that the nondegenerate model reduces to the degenerate one. We also demonstrate the isomorphism existing between our degenerate TPL model and that of a dressed-state TPL. All these models contain ac-

Nonlinear dynamics of Raman lasers

Physical Review A, 1990
It has recently been shown that single mode Raman lasers are reducible to a simple mathematical description [1] similar to that of the detuned Haken-Lorenz model but for which operating conditions are considerably relaxed. As such they provide excellent opportunity for quantitative tests of nonlinear dynamics.

Laser spot dynamics

Applied Optics, 1987
The dynamics of a pulsed laser spot covering an optical aperture of a receiver is analyzed. This analysis includes the influence of diffraction, jitter, atmospheric absorption and scattering, and atmospheric turbulence. A simple expression for the probability of response of the receiver illuminated by the laser spot is derived.

Laser Dynamics

2010
Bridging the gap between laser physics and applied mathematics, this book offers a new perspective on laser dynamics. Combining fresh treatments of classic problems with up-to-date research, asymptotic techniques appropriate for nonlinear dynamical systems are shown to offer a powerful alternative to numerical simulations.

Revealing the Transition Dynamics from Q Switching to Mode Locking in a Soliton Laser.

Physical Review Letters, 2019
Q switching (QS) and mode locking (ML) are the two main techniques enabling generation of ultrashort pulses. Here, we report the first observation of pulse evolution and dynamics in the QS-ML transition stage, where the ML soliton formation evolves from ...

Dynamics of laser intracavity absorption

Physical Review A, 1985
The dynamical behavior of a multimode dye laser with an intracavity absorber has been investigated theoretically as well as experimentally. This behavior is described by a system of rate equations which has to include the influence of saturation in the case of large absorption coefficients.
