Hybrid modeling of relativistic underdense plasma photocathode injectors [PDF]
The dynamics of laser ionization-based electron injection in the recently introduced plasma photocathode concept is analyzed analytically and with particle-in-cell simulations.

Effect of Laser-Matter Interaction on Molten Pool Flow and Keyhole Dynamics
Laser-induced keyholing occurs in additive manufacturing and welding processes, but the keyhole dynamics have not been well understood. A multi-phase and multi-physics numerical model is used to predict the keyhole shapes recorded in the experimental ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Modeling and Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of Blade-Disk Dual-Rotor System
In this paper, a simplified dynamic model of a dual-rotor system coupled with blade disk is built, and the effects of blade parameters of an aircraft engine on the dynamic characteristics of a dual-rotor system are studied.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Metastable photo-induced superconductivity far above T c
Inspired by the striking discovery of metastable superconductivity in K3C60 at 100K, far above T c = 20 K, we discuss possible mechanisms for long-lived, photo-induced superconductivity.

Dynamics of Semiconductor Lasers under External Optical Feedback from Both Sides of the Laser Cavity
To increase the spectral efficiency of coherent communication systems, lasers with ever-narrower linewidths are required as they enable higher-order modulation formats with lower bit-error rates.

Nonlinear Interaction of Transversal Modes in a CO2 Laser
We show the possibility of achieving experimentally a Takens-Bogdanov bifurcation for the nonlinear interaction of two transverse modes ($l = \pm 1$) in a $CO_2$ laser.
