Tunable Optical Frequency Comb Generated Using Periodic Windows in a Laser and Its Application for Distance Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2023
A novel method for the generation of an optical frequency comb (OFC) is presented. The proposed approach uses a laser diode with optical feedback and operating at a specific nonlinear dynamic state named periodic window.

Dynamics and Complexity of a New 4D Chaotic Laser System

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
Derived from Lorenz-Haken equations, this paper presents a new 4D chaotic laser system with three equilibria and only two quadratic nonlinearities. Dynamics analysis, including stability of symmetric equilibria and the existence of coexisting multiple ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Linking critical temperature with electron localization for cavity-enhanced superconductivity

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Predicting superconducting properties from first principles—especially in non-equilibrium conditions—is computationally intensive. Here, we propose a more efficient approach by using the electron localization function (ELF) as a proxy for estimating the ...

Time-Multiplexed Spiking Convolutional Neural Network Based on VCSELs for Unsupervised Image Classification

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
In this work, we present numerical results concerning a multilayer “deep” photonic spiking convolutional neural network, arranged so as to tackle a 2D image classification task.

Phase dynamics in a binary-collisions atom laser scheme

open access: yes, 1997
Various aspects of the phase dynamics of an atom laser scheme based on binary collisions are investigated. Analytical estimates of the influence of elastic atom-atom collisions on the laser linewidth are given, and linewidths achievable in a recently ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Effective equilibrium theory of quantum light-matter interaction in cavities for extended systems and the long wavelength approximation

open access: yesCommunications Physics
When light and matter interact strongly, the resulting hybrid system inherits properties from both constituents, allowing one to modify the material behavior by engineering the surrounding electromagnetic environment.

Publisher Correction: Ellipticity dependence of high-harmonic generation in solids originating from coupled intraband and interband dynamics

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
The published version of this Article contained an error in the second sentence of the fourth paragraph of the subheaded section “Ellipticity and helicity of the emitted harmonics”. The final exponent in this sentence should read: inπ/2.
