The heat shock response plays an important role in TDP-43 clearance: evidence for dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [PDF]
Detergent-resistant, ubiquitinated and hyperphosphorylated Tar DNA binding protein 43 (TDP-43, encoded by TARDBP ) neuronal cytoplasmic inclusions are the pathological hallmark in ∼95% of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and ∼60% of frontotemporal lobar ...

Effects of Dry Granulation Operating Parameters on Forming Quality
To address the issues of the existing dry granulation process, which mostly relies on manual adjustments based on empirical experience and lacks the analysis of theoretical data, a simplified model of tablet pressing based on a modified Drucker–Prager ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Prediction Of Lateral Vibration Behavior Of Integrally Geared Centrifugal Compressor During Synchronous Motor Startup By Transient Torsional-Lateral Coupled Analysis [PDF]
LectureStartup transients of both torsional and lateral vibration behaviors of an integrally geared centrifugal compressor driven by a synchronous motor are examined by transient torsional-lateral coupled analyses, and the numerical calculation results ...

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
