Lattices of Subsemivarieties of Certain Varieties [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Australian Mathematical Society, 1971
For all positive integers m, n, m ≤ n, let m,n denote the variety of algebras with m n-ary operations ω1, …, ωm and n m-ary operations φ1, …, φn satisfying the system of identities The varieties m,n are considered by Swierczkowski [1] and by Akataeb and Smirnov [2]. Jonsson and Tarski [3] consider m,n in the case m = 1, n = 2.

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

Sums of finitely based lattice varieties [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
This paper is concerned with the question whether the lattice sum (join) V + V′ of two finitely based lattice varieties V and V′ is finitely based. An example is constructed showing that this is not always the case.

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

A Dislocation Perspective on Strength and Toughness in Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocations in ceramics enjoy a long but yet under‐appreciated history. The three research waves for dislocations in ceramics highlight the topic evolution over the last 90 years. This review focuses on the impact of dislocation on strength and toughness in ceramics.

A multiplication of $e$-varieties of orthodox semigroups [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
summary:We define semantically a partial multiplication on the lattice of all e–varieties of regular semigroups. In the case that the first factor is an e–variety of orthodox semigroups we describe our multiplication syntactically in terms of biinvariant

On modular and cancellable elements of the lattice of semigroup varieties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We continue a study of modular and cancellable elements in the lattice SEM of all semigroup varieties. In 2007, the second author completely determined all commutative semigroup varieties that are modular elements in SEM. In 2018 the authors jointly with

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...
