Detection of Debris Disks and Wide Orbit Planets with the LBTI
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2009The Large Binocular Telescope Interferometer (LBTI) is designed to probe nearby stars for dust disks, indicative of planetesimal belts, as well as giant planets in wide orbits (>3 AU). The instrument provides a unique combination of resolution and sensitivity in the thermal infrared to achieve these objectives.

First AO-corrected interferometry with LBTI: steps towards routine coherent imaging observations
SPIE Proceedings, 2012We report the first phased images using adaptive optics correction from the Large Binocular Telescope Interferometer. LBTI achieved first fringes in late 2010, with seeing-limited operation. Initial tests verified the feasibility of the setup and allowed us to characterize the phase variations from both the atmosphere and mechanical vibrations ...

Characterization of synthetic reconstructors for the pyramid wavefront sensor unit of LBTI
SPIE Proceedings, 2010We present progress and results for the pyramid wavefront sensor unit on the Large Binocular Telescope's Interferometer (LBTI). The system is a clone of the pyramid sensor unit developed at Arcetri Observatory for the LUCIFER instrument. We discuss the performance of simulated reconstructors during preliminary on-sky testing at the MMT.

Commissioning the LBTI for use as a nulling interferometer and coherent imager
SPIE Proceedings, 2014The Large Binocular Telescope Interferometer (LBTI) is a strategically important instrument for exploiting the use of the LBT as a 22.7 m telescope. The LBTI has two science cameras (covering the 1.5-5 μm and 8-13 μm atmospheric windows), and a number of observing modes that allow it to carry out a wide range of high-spatial resolution observations ...

Lima Bean Trypsin Inhibitor (LBTI) is 83 residues monomeric protein of 9.0 KDa, consisting of six antiparallel β-strands and can undergo concentration dependant dimerization. We have tried to characterize folding intermediates of LBTI under equilibrium denaturation conditions.

The Large Binocular Telescope Interferometer (LBTI) is a stellar interferometer consisting of two 8.4-m apertures on a 14.4 m baseline on a common mount at Mt. Graham, Arizona. The Hunt for Observable Signatures of Terrestrial Systems (HOSTS) is a NASA key project for the LBTI surveying the warm and hot dust in the inner regions of planetary systems ...
