Use of LC-Orbitrap MS and FT-NIRS with multivariate analysis to determine geographic origin of Boston butt pork [PDF]
To avoid fraudulent practices, LC-Orbitrap and FT-NIRS combined with multivariate analysis was used to distinguish between 53 Korean and foreign Boston butt samples; forty were used to establish the calibration model and 13 were used as an external validation set. Twenty metabolites were determined to be good indicators of geographic origin.

Leaf apoplastic proteome composition in UV-B treated Arabidopsis thaliana mutants impaired in extracellular glutathione degradation [PDF]
In plants, environmental perturbations often result in oxidative reactions in the apoplastic space, which are counteracted for by enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidative systems, including ascorbate and glutathione. The occurrence of the latter and its

Enhanced LC-ESI-MS/MS Sensitivity by Cationic Derivatization of Organophosphorus Acids
The chemical derivatization to enhance the signal intensity and signal-to-noise (S/N) of several organophosphorus (OP) acids in liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS) is illustrated.

C-terminal phosphorylation of NaV1.5 impairs FGF13-dependent regulation of channel inactivation [PDF]
International audienceVoltage-gated Na(+) (NaV) channels are key regulators of myocardial excitability, and Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII)-dependent alterations in NaV1.5 channel inactivation are emerging as a critical determinant

Revealing nascent proteomics in signaling pathways and cell differentiation. [PDF]
Regulation of gene expression at the level of protein synthesis is a crucial element in driving how the genetic landscape is expressed. However, we are still limited in technologies that can quantitatively capture the immediate proteomic changes that ...

Streaming visualisation of quantitative mass spectrometry data based on a novel raw signal decomposition method [PDF]
As data rates rise, there is a danger that informatics for high-throughput LC-MS becomes more opaque and inaccessible to practitioners. It is therefore critical that efficient visualisation tools are available to facilitate quality control, verification,

A large-scale proteogenomics study of apicomplexan pathogens-Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum [PDF]
Proteomics data can supplement genome annotation efforts, for example being used to confirm gene models or correct gene annotation errors. Here, we present a large‐scale proteogenomics study of two important apicomplexan pathogens: Toxoplasma gondii and ...
