Estimation of the LC50, a review

Environmetrics, 1991
AbstractIn this paper methods to estimate the median lethal concentration (LC50) are reviewed. Estimation from data sets with limited occurrence of partial response (>0%, <100%) receives particular attention.

Genotoxic Effects and LC50 Value of NaOCl on Orthrias angorae (Steindachner 1897)

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2008
Studies show that different organisms used as bio-indicators have indicated several genotoxic and mutagenic effects of disinfected waters. In this study, the 96 h LC(50 )mean value of NaOCl for Orthrias angorae was calculated to be 0.5509 mg/L. The results showed that NaOCl is highly toxic to O. angorae specimens.

Estimating Short-Term LC50 Values

Fire Technology, 1976
The authors discuss correlations of LC50 data and suggest that one possible use of them may be in the design of toxicity test procedures.

Correlation between LC50 for Adult Fish and Fish Embryos

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2017
Testing for substance toxicity for living organisms is an important step in the development and adaptation of new drugs for various purposes. Analysis of the dependences between toxicological parameters of chemical substances for various test objects and physicochemical properties of these agents is a promising trend. Partition coefficient logP (logKow)

A QSAR model for predicting toxicity (LC50) to rainbow trout

Water Research, 2002
A fragment constant method for prediction of toxicity (LC50) to rainbow trout was developed based on the experimental LC50 values of 258 chemicals obtained from the literature. The dataset was randomly divided into a training set and a validation set for purposes of model development and validation.

Determination of LC50 and sub-chronic neurotoxicity of diesel exhaust nanoparticles

Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2015
Air pollution is a major problem faced globally and is seen associated with central nervous system (CNS) disorders like neuropathology and neuro-inflammation. Here, we investigated the CNS disorders as a result of sub-chronic exposure (90 days) to diesel exhaust nanoparticles (DENPs) and explored the minimal levels of DENPs needed to exhibit the early ...

Estimators for the LC50

1988
Dit rapport geeft een kritisch overzicht van statistische methoden voor het schatten van de LC50. Met name wordt aandacht besteed aan de bruikbaarheid van deze methoden bij het type gegevens dat bij toxiciteitstoetsen vaak voorkomt.
