HDR Versus LDR Gynecological Brachytherapy Revisited
Medical Dosimetry, 1993Despite the obvious breakthrough of high dose-rate (HDR) afterloading systems on the gynecological brachytherapy market, questions still remain regarding the transfer of available expertise gained throughout the last 80 years with low dose-rate (LDR) radium and cesium, especially regarding the conversion of LDR total dose into equivalent HDR dose per ...

Response of an LDR to Light's Spatial Structure
Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2023 (FiO, LS), 2023An LDR's response is known to be dependent on light intensity and wavelength. In this work, we show via simulations and experiment that its behavior is also affected by the spatial structure of incoming light.

SU‐FF‐T‐11: Dosimetry Comparison of LDR 137Cs and LDR 252Cf Brachytherapy Sources
Medical Physics, 2005Purpose: Hundreds of patients have received gynecological brachytherapy treatments in the US using applicator tube‐type (AT) low dose rate (LDR) 252Cf sources. However, its mixed‐field radiation dose distributions have not been characterized using the AAPM Task Group 43 dosimetry formalism, nor quantitatively compared to conventional photon‐emitting ...

CNN-based LDR-to-HDR conversion system
2018 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE), 2018We propose a system to convert low-dynamic-range images to high-dynamic-range (HDR) images. The system is based on a convolutional neural network (CNN). We use the CNN to distinguish light sources from non-light sources, and use that information to identify regions that should be brightened.

Recover image details from LDR photographs
2013 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS2013), 2013In this paper, a novel self-adaptive curve, based on human visual model (HVM), is proposed for recovering details from low dynamic range (LDR) digital photographs, which are under-exposed or over-exposed or both. In order to improve the perceptual visibility, we utilize HVM to construct our method, which is able to take advantage of entire dynamic ...

Intervening to Promote Early Initiation of Breastfeeding in the LDR
MCN: The American Journal of Maternal/Child Nursing, 2007To evaluate the effectiveness of an interventional protocol for the early initiation of breastfeeding that would remove barriers in the labor, delivery, recovery (LDR) unit.Descriptive design using 100 postpartum mothers who were interviewed before discharge at a large university hospital in the south-central United States.

Localization and Tracking for LDR-UWB Systems
2007 16th IST Mobile and Wireless Communications Summit, 2007Localization and tracking (LT) algorithms for low data rate (LDR) ultra wideband (UWB) systems developed within the Integrated Project PULSERS Phase II are reviewed and compared. In particular, two localization algorithms, designed for static networks with mesh topologies, and one Tracking Algorithm, designed for dynamic network with star topologies ...

Low-dose-rate (LDR) intracavitary brachytherapy for the uterine cervix was a standard treatment modality in the first half of the twentieth century. High-dose-rate (HDR) intracavitary brachytherapy was developed to overcome some drawbacks of LDR brachytherapy (e.g., exposure of the medical staff and long treatment time).
