Determination of the Tropospheric Residence Time of Lead-210
Science, 1962The ratios of bismuth-210 to lead-210 in rain samples were used to calculate tropospheric residence time for lead-210. The value of about 6 days thus obtained agrees closely with the average interval between two rainfalls.

This is the first detailed study on the distribution of lead-210 in the Japan Sea water. The content of lead-210 ranged from 9.3±2.1 dph/l in the surface water to 3.4+-0.8 dph/l in the deep water—a quite low content as compared to that in the deep water of the North Pacific.

Source of Lead-210 and Polonium-210 in Tobacco
Science, 1966Test plants were grown within a chamber enriched with radon-222 in the atmosphere, in tobacco fields with different sources of phosphate-containing fertilizer, and in culture containing lead-210 in the nutrient solution. Harvested leaves were subjected to three curing conditions.

Lead-210 content of food samples in India
Radiation and Environmental Biophysics, 1980The paper presents results of measurements made on cereals and composite meal samples collected from Bombay market for their lead-210 content. The details of sampling and analytical chemistry procedures are also given. The Pb210 contents of most of these samples were in the range of 1--5 pCi/kg of cereals samples.

Lead-210 and Polonium-210 in Tissues of Cigarette Smokers
Science, 1966Concentrations of lead-210 and polonium-210 in rib bones taken from 13 cigarette smokers were about twice those in six nonsmokers, the polonium-210 being close to radioactive equilibrium with the lead-210. In alveolar lung tissue the concentration of lead-210 in smokers was about twice that in nonsmokers.

Lead-210 sedimentation in Lake Ontario
Environmental Geology and Water Sciences, 1992The sedimentation rates and diffusive sediment mixing coefficients at several Lake Ontario locations have been derived from measurements of unsupported210Pb profiles in sediment cores. The values of mixing coefficients obtained in the present study are significantly lower than those obtained previously through an analysis of porosity profiles.

Storage and Excretion of Lead 210 in Dogs

Excretion of the resulting radiolead was determined over a long period of time by aralysis of urine and feces for Pb/sup 210/ and analysis of tissues at the end of the experiment.

Validation of the lead-210 dating method
Journal of Radioanalytical Chemistry, 1979210Pb datings of sediments from open marine area, salt marsh area and estuary and of peat from a raised bog have been performed. Different methods of calculation are used. Net accumulation rates in the range of 0.0078–0.44 g·cm−2·year−1 were obtained. The results are in good agreement with those obtained by other methods.
