Leaf Anatomical and Morphological Characteristics of some Species of Quercus, Fagus, and Castanea (Fagaceae) from some Habitats in Iran [PDF]
The Fagaceae family is comprised of 8 genera with over 1000 different species. Despite many advances in understanding phylogenetic relationships based on molecular data, the existence of hybrids and/or the presence of ambiguous sequences justify careful ...

Epicuticular Leaf Wax of Euphorbia dendroides L., Euphorbiaceae
Quantity and composition of epicuticular leaf wax of Euphorbia dendroides L. was examined. The wax contained rt-alkanes, wax esters, aldehydes, fatty acids and primary alcohols. In addition to these common epicuticular wax constituents several triterpenoids and benzoic acid esters were found.

Distinct Phyllosphere Bacterial Communities on Arabidopsis Wax Mutant Leaves [PDF]
The phyllosphere of plants is inhabited by diverse microorganisms, however, the factors shaping their community composition are not fully elucidated. The plant cuticle represents the initial contact surface between microorganisms and the plant.

Tribological application and mechanism of epicuticular wax
The plant cuticle is a complex mixture of omnipresent, commonly monofunctional, fatty acid derivatives and taxon-specific, generally bifunctional, specialty compounds. This study explored expanded applications for these substances.

Leaf Optical Responses to Light and Soil Nutrient Availability in Temperature Deciduous Trees [PDF]
Leaf optical parameters influence light availability at the cellular, leaf, and canopy scale of integration. While recent studies have focused on leaf optical responses to acute plant stress, the effects of changes in plant resources on leaf optics ...

Infrared and Raman spectroscopic features of plant cuticles: a review [PDF]
The cuticle is one of the most important plant barriers. It is an external and continuous lipid membrane that covers the surface of epidermal cells and whose main function is to prevent the massive loss of water. The spectroscopic characterization of the

Effect of Surfactant on Ion Penetration Through Leaf Wax and a Wax Model1
Abstract Leaves of nonglaucous cotton and tomato absorbed Mn whether or not a surfactant was added to a MnSO 4 spray solution, whereas the leaves of glaucous cabbage and onion absorbed Mn only when a surfactant was added.
