Leaky modes at backward endfire on periodic printed structures
In this work, the transition at backward endfire between bound (nonleaky) and leaky modes on one-dimensional periodic structures printed on a grounded dielectric substrate is examined.

Novel modal transitions for leaky modes on microstrip lines
In this paper it is shown that a novel transition may occur for dominant leaky modes on microstrip line, between a leaky mode that leaks into the TM0 surface-wave and one that leaks both into the TM0 surface wave and into space.

Modal analysis of the ultrahigh finesse Haroche QED cavity
In this paper, we study a high-order finite element approach to simulate an ultrahigh finesse Fabry–Pérot superconducting open resonator for cavity quantum electrodynamics.

Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Oxygen‐tunnel (OT) indium tin oxide (ITO) vertical channel transistors (VCTs) enable reliable, high‐density gain‐cell memory for monolithic 3D integration. A sandwiched SiN/SiO2/SiN OT stack selectively regulates oxygen transport, suppressing parasitic electrode oxidation while stabilizing channel oxygen vacancies, thereby suppressing carrier injection

Leaky modes in multilayer uniaxial optical waveguides
The propagation characteristics of the leaky modes in planar anisotropic waveguides with a multilayer structure have been investigated by means of a compact rigorous formalism.

A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Surface and Leaky Modes in a Symmetric DPS-DNG Slab
Recent experimental verification of metamaterials with negative index of refraction – also known as DNG (double negative) media as their permittivity and permeability are both negative – has led to the widespread research of guiding structures that are ...

Bound states within the radiation continuum in diffraction gratings and the role of leaky modes
We discuss resonant states with diverging Q factor within the radiation continuum based on the anomalous interaction of leaky guided modes and diffracted waves in suitably designed reflection gratings.
