GALS – Gradient Analysis by Least Squares [PDF]
We present a method, GALS (Gradient Analysis by Least Squares) for estimating the gradient of a physical field from multi-spacecraft observations.

Multivariate Curve Resolution Alternating Least Squares Analysis of In Vivo Skin Raman Spectra [PDF]
In recent years, Raman spectroscopy has been used to study biological tissues. However, the analysis of experimental Raman spectra is still challenging, since the Raman spectra of most biological tissue components overlap significantly and it is ...

Multilocus association testing of quantitative traits based on partial least-squares analysis. [PDF]
Because of combining the genetic information of multiple loci, multilocus association studies (MLAS) are expected to be more powerful than single locus association studies (SLAS) in disease genes mapping.

Deformation analysis with Total Least Squares [PDF]
Deformation analysis is one of the main research fields in geodesy. Deformation analysis process comprises measurement and analysis phases. Measurements can be collected using several techniques. The output of the evaluation of the measurements is mainly

Locality preserving partial least squares discriminant analysis for face recognition
We propose a locality preserving partial least squares discriminant analysis (LPPLSDA) which adds a locality preserving feature to the conventional partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA).

ACCURACY ANALYSIS OF HRSI-BASED GEOPOSITIONING USING LEAST SQUARES COLLOCATION [PDF]
Rational function model with bias compensation has been widely used in geopositioning of High Resolution Satellite Imagery (HRSI). We studied the geopositioning issue using a pair of QuickBird imagery in the Shanghai urban area with 126 Control Points (

Novel Kernel Orthogonal Partial Least Squares for Dominant Sensor Data Extraction
Orthogonal Partial Least Squares (OPLS) methods are aimed at finding the dominant factors from predictor variables that can maximize cross-covariance between the factors themselves and response variables while a high correlation between them should also ...

Uncertain Box-Cox Regression Analysis With Rescaled Least Squares Estimation
Under the uncertain statistical framework by Liu [19], there is still a lack of an effective fitting method for uncertain linear models with Box-Cox transformation of response variables.

Factor Analysis by Generalized Least Squares [PDF]
Aitken’s generalized least squares (GLS) principle, with the inverse of the observed variance-covariance matrix as a weight matrix, is applied to estimate the factor analysis model in the exploratory (unrestricted) case. It is shown that the GLS estimates are scale free and asymptotically efficient.
