Microbiology and ImmunologyABSTRACT C‐type lectins are calcium‐dependent glycan‐binding proteins that play key roles in the innate immune response by recognizing pathogens. Soluble C‐type lectins agglutinate and neutralize pathogens, activate the complement system, and promote pathogen clearance via opsonization.
