Enhancing Bio-Fertilization Potential of Introduced Hedysarum Species Through Indirect Root Inoculation: Implications for Agro-Ecological Sustainability in Arid Lands

open access: yesStudia Ecologiae et Bioethicae
Saharan soils are devoid of Rhizobium bacteria specific to the Sulla plants which is indispensable for nitrogen fixation and soil fertility. The present study aims to test the possibility of formation nodules on the roots of some species of Hedysarum ...

A CLE11b‐CLE16 Signaling Relay Mediates Root‐Shoot‐Root Crosstalk for Drought Adaptation in Common Bean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel root‐shoot‐root signaling relay, mediated by CLE peptides, coordinates drought adaptation in common bean. Root‐derived PvCLE11b translocates acropetally to leaves, inducing PvCLE16 expression via PvTCP10. Leaf‐accumulated PvCLE16 triggers stomatal closure and translocates basipetally to modulate root architecture.

Disponibilidade e valor nutritivo de forragem de leguminosas nativas (Adesmia DC.) e exóticas (Lotus L.) Availability and nutritive value of the wild leguminous (Adesmia DC.) and exotics (Lotus L.)

Evolving together, evolving apart: Measuring the fitness of rhizobial bacteria in and out of symbiosis with leguminous plants.

open access: yesNew Phytologist, 2019
Most plant-microbe interactions are facultative, with microbes experiencing temporally and spatially variable selection. How this variation affects microbial evolution is poorly understood.

2023–2027 CAP First Pillar Reform and Livestock Sector: Production and Economic Impacts on Italian Specialized Dairy Cattle Farms

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present study uses an agroeconomic supply model to assess the impacts of 2023–2027 CAP on Italian specialized dairy cattle farms. The model considers the voluntary choice of Eco‐Scheme 1, specifically addressed to livestock farms, through the implementation of binary variables.

Nitrogen-fixing bacteria associated with leguminous and non-leguminous plants

open access: yesPlant and Soil, 2008
Nitrogen is generally considered one of the major limiting nutrients in plant growth. The biological process responsible for reduction of molecular nitrogen into ammonia is referred to as nitrogen fixation. A wide diversity of nitrogen-fixing bacterial species belonging to most phyla of the Bacteria domain have the capacity to colonize the rhizosphere ...
