We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Thermal Process Lethality Calculator (F-value)
The paper presents two Python-based calculators for determining the F-value, a measure of the lethality of a thermal process in food safety. Utilizing both the Trapezoidal rule and Simpson's rule for numerical integration, the calculators compute the ...

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Suicide Attempt Lethality in Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder is associated with greater suicide risk compared to major depressive disorder, but it is not clear what characteristics of this disorder contribute to increased risk.

Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Calculating lethality risk avoidance
This paper provides theoretical health-risk-assessment tools that are designed to facilitate planning for and managing radiological terrorism incidents that involve ingestion exposure to bone-seeking radionuclides (e.g., radiostrontium nuclides).

Assessment of lethality after treatments.
Mice treated intraperitoneally (ip) and/or per oral (po) with vehicle (control), allopurinol (NL), probenecid (PB) and Crotalus durissus terrificus venom (vCdt) followed by NL (vCdt+NL) or PB (vCdt+PB) after 2 h.*Lethality at 24 h only differed in vCdt ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have
