Antipneumococcal Cross Reactions of Antigens of Leuconostoc mesenteroides.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1954
Summary1. The experiments dealt with the antipneumococcal cross reactions of non-dextran antigens of two strains of L. mesenteroides. The B512-F strain, which is commonly employed in manufacture of dextran plasma volume extenders, gave reciprocal cross reactions with type 27; the other strain gave reciprocal reactions with type 32 pneumococcus.

Complete genome sequence of Leuconostoc gelidum subsp. gasicomitatum KG16-1, isolated from vacuum-packaged vegetable sausages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Leuconostoc gelidum subsp. gasicomitatum is a predominant lactic acid bacterium (LAB) in spoilage microbial communities of different kinds of modified-atmosphere packaged (MAP) food products. So far, only one genome sequence of a poultry-originating type

Serine Synthesis by Leuconostoc mesenteroides

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1962
SummaryLeuconostoc mesenteroides (ATCC 8042) required a member of the folic acid group of compounds for growth in the absence of serine. p-Aminobenzoic acid, or more efficiently, 5-formyltetrahydrofolic acid and tetrahydrofolic acid, met this requirement.
