The Journal of cell biology, 1976 The colorless alga Polytoma obtusum has been found to possess leucoplasts, and two kinds of ribosomes with sedimentation values of 73S and 79S. The ribosomal RNA (rRNA) of the 73S but not the 79S ribosomes was shown to hybridize with the leucoplast DNA (rho - 1.682 g/ml).

Relationship between the Subunits of Leucoplast Pyruvate Kinase from Ricinus communis and a Comparison with the Enzyme from Other Sources [PDF]
Plant Physiology, 1991 Two cDNA clones, PK(p)alpha and PK(p)beta, for the leucoplast isozyme of pyruvate kinase have been isolated and characterized. A Southern blot of castor (Ricinus communis) DNA probed with PK(p)alpha indicates the presence of a single gene for PK(p). Most (1610 base pairs) of the sequence of both cDNAs is identical.
