Pancytopenia in a 70-Year-Old African-American Male: An Unusual Presentation of a Rare Disease

open access: yesCase Reports in Hematology, 2014
Hairy cell leukemia is a rare lymphoid neoplasm arising from mature B-lymphocytes. Clinically, the disease presents with splenomegaly and abdominal discomfort, frequent infections, fatigue and bleeding because of related cytopenias. Bone marrow biopsy is

TTNPB Promotes Human Pluripotent Stem Cell‐to‐Neural Stem Cell Transition via Modulation of Chromatin Accessibility and the S‐(5′‐adenosyl)‐L‐homocysteine/Choline Metabolic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A retinoic acid receptor agonist, TTNPB, drives the efficient generation of advanced neural stem cells (ANSCs) from human pluripotent stem cells. TTNPB‐centered chromatin remodeling and metabolic reprogramming, promote neuroectoderm commitment. The resulting cells show robust neural potential and functional efficacy in a rat depression model.

Hairy cell leukemia: A decade long experience of North Indian Hematology Center

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology, 2014
Introduction: Hairy cell leukemia is a rare chronic B-cell disorder that follows an indolent but progressive course. This disorder is characterized by pancytopenia, splenomegaly, bone marrow fibrosis and the presence of atypical lymphoid cells with hairy

Mitochondrial CircRNA CircMT‐RNR2 Safeguards Antioxidant Defense to Support Fibroblast Functions in Wound Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CircMT‐RNR2 promotes wound healing by enhancing fibroblast proliferation, migration, contraction, and extracellular matrix (ECM) production. It sustains mitochondrial redox balance by stabilizing the antioxidant protein PRDX3, thereby reducing ROS‐induced damage. In diabetic foot ulcers, hypoxia, hyperglycemia, and reduced FGF2 and EGF expression lower

Quantitative flow cytometric evaluation of CD200, CD123, CD43 and CD52 as a tool for the differential diagnosis of mature B-cell neoplasms

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapia
Background Distinction between mature B-cell neoplasms can be difficult due to overlapping of immunologic features and clinical manifestations. This study investigated whether quantifying mean fluorescence intensity of four monoclonal antibodies in a ...

Concomitant B Hairy Cell Leukemia and Mycosis Fungoides in an Elderly Man

open access: yesCase Reports in Dermatology, 2017
The development of both a T- and B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in one patient is an unlikely coincidence due to the low prevalence of each malignancy.

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Photothermal–Immunomodulatory Hydrogel Reinforced by Ti3C2/ZnAl‐LDH Nanoplatform for Eradicating MRSA and Promoting Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A NETs‐inspired Ti3C2/LDH hydrogel integrates trapping, ROS boosting, and M2‐immunomodulation for MRSA‐infected wound repair. ABSTRACT MRSA infections give rise to chronic cutaneous and advance into profound tissue invasions, including osteomyelitis and sepsis—conditions for which existing clinical interventions offer only limited efficacy. The utility

Cytokine‐Engineered Chimeric Antigen Receptor‐T Cell Therapy: How to Balance the Efficacy and Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cytokine‐engineered CAR‐T cells represent a promising immunotherapy against malignancies due to direct tumor killing and potent immunity response. However, significant toxicities, including CRS and ICANS, have restricted clinical applications. How to keep the risk‐benefit balance of the advanced therapy is of great importance for maximizing the benefit
