Next‐generation sequencing‐based IG clonality analysis to discriminate reactive infiltrates from minimal lymphoma involvement in paired lymphoma and bone marrow biopsies; a EuroClonality‐NGS Working Group study

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 88, Issue 5, Page 1059-1074, April 2026.
Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) immunoglobulin clonality analysis can help resolve ambiguous bone marrow staging biopsies for B‐cell lymphoma. In this study, paired analysis of the primary lymphoma and bone marrow helped to detect lymphoma involvement in cases with inconclusive morphology and immunohistochemistry, making it a valuable tool for ...

Wnt Signaling Downregulation Mediates T Cell Apoptosis Following OKT3‐Induced T Cell Activation in Preclinical Models

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
In OKT3‐treated human PBMCs, Wnt signaling was downregulated, and co‐treatment with the Wnt activator CHIR99021 reduced T cell activation and apoptosis. In humanized mice, transcriptomic profiling revealed upregulation of genes associated with T cell activation, cytokine and ROS production, and apoptosis, with downregulation of canonical Wnt signaling.

Incidence patterns and temporal trends of childhood cancer in Germany, 1980–2019: Forty years of childhood cancer registration in Germany

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 6, Page 1541-1554, 15 March 2026.
What's new? Childhood cancer ranks among the leading causes of disease‐related deaths in children in high‐income countries. Established risk factors, however, account for only a small proportion of incident childhood cancers. In this report, the authors present the first long‐term assessment of temporal trends in childhood cancer incidence rates in ...

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval as an Early Electrocardiographic Marker of Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...

Frequent NPM1 mutation, monoblastic/monocytic origin and prognostic significance of organ and system involvement in myeloid sarcoma: a multicenter study

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Myeloid sarcoma (MS) is a tumorous extramedullary proliferation of blast or blast equivalent cells (e.g., promonocytes or promyelocytes). The most frequent cutaneous presentation is often referred to as leukemia cutis (LC). These lesions, especially without the clinical context of a known bone marrow disease, pose a differential diagnostic ...
