Exposure to artificial light at night (ALAN), particularly at blue wavelengths, disrupts circadian rhythms by suppressing melatonin, thereby increasing cancer susceptibility. Among patients referred for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation with pulmonary opacities, lung biopsy provided a diagnosis in 72% of procedures and altered management in 51%. Despite a 7% major complication rate, lung biopsy frequently clarified noninfectious etiologies when bronchoscopy was inconclusive.
