O. anthropi recruits leukocytes in the peritoneum.

open access: yes, 2013
Groups of 6 mice were intraperitoneally inoculated with 106 CFU/ml of O. anthropi. Thereafter, peritoneal exudates were obtained and leukocytes counted.

Integrating Immunotherapy Into Head and Neck Surgery: Bridging Tumor Biology to Perioperative Decision‐Making, a Review

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To provide a comprehensive review of the biological rationale, clinical evidence, and practical perioperative management of immunotherapy for the head and neck surgeon. Summary Background Data Standard treatment for resectable head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) has reached a survival plateau, with over 50% of patients ...

Generation of Allogeneic CAR‐T Circumvents Functional Deficits in Patient‐Derived Autologous Product for Glioblastoma

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Clinical trials of chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapies in glioblastoma have shown limited clinical benefits. Whether this may be explained by the basal quality of CAR‐T products, which are currently generated using patient, autologous T‐cells, has been little explored.

Composite-derived monomers affect cell viability and cytokine expression in human leukocytes stimulated with Porphyromonas gingivalis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science
Objectives: Dental composites release unreacted resin monomers into the oral environment, even after polymerization. Periodontal cells are, therefore, exposed to substances that potentially elicit the immune inflammatory response.

Predictive Biomarkers in Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Patients Treated With Bevacizumab: A Turkish Oncology Group (TOG) Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Bevacizumab added to systemic chemotherapy remains a cornerstone of metastatic colorectal cancer treatment, but its effectiveness is variable. Tumors can bypass the VEGF blockade by activating other pro‐angiogenic pathways, hampering the identification of predictive biomarkers.

[The role of mononuclear leukocytes in the pathogenesis of glomerulonephritis].

open access: yesTerapevticheskii arkhiv, 1991
To specify the role of mononuclear (MN) leukocytes in the development of mesangial cell proliferation, which is one of the main manifestations of glomerulonephritis, cell cultures of renal glomeruli of rats with nephrotoxic serum (NTS) nephritis were examined for the intensity of mesangial cell proliferation, the MN-leukocyte count, and for IL-1 ...

Demonstration of membrane-bound proteolytic activity on the surface of mononuclear leukocytes

open access: yes, 1981
The existence of proteolytic enzymes bound to the surface of migrating cells has often been surmised. That such enzymes are present on mononuclear leukocytes was suggested by studies showing that serum amyloid A (SAA), the presumed precursor of amyloid ...

Gene expression signatures from single‐cell transcriptomics predict Sjögren's syndrome

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐based 12‐gene signature (SjS.Sig) was developed from scRNA‐seq data of PBMCs from Sjögren's syndrome patients. The model was validated using bulk RNA‐seq datasets and further confirmed through flow cytometry and qPCR analysis in an independent clinical cohort, demonstrating robust diagnostic potential.

Patient‐derived organoid‐immune co‐cultures integrated with multi‐omics reveal immunotherapy resistance mechanisms in urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Immunotherapy resistance presents a formidable challenge in tumor biology. While fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) serves as a pivotal oncogenic driver in a multitude of cancers, the exploration of its role in immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) resistance remains scarce, thus impeding a deeper understanding of the tumor immune microenvironment
