ZINC CONCENTRATION IN LEUKOCYTES : MONONUCLEAR CELLS, GRANULOCYTES, T-LYMPHOCYTES, NON-T LYMPHOCYTES AND MONOCYTES [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
This study was designed to evaluate the zinc concentrations of leukocytes: monon- uclear cells, granulocytes, T and non-T lymphocytes and monocytes. The zinc content of leukocytes was 0.137 ±0.040 μg/10⁷ cells.

Engineering Human Donor Derived Germinal Center‐Like Organoids (GCLOs) for Studying Immune Response to Vaccination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We bioengineered a new approach methodology of generating Germinal Center Organoids that self‐organize from human blood‐derived immune cells. These immune organoids reproduce key features of humoral immunity, IgG production, and plasmablast emergence.

Targeting the ATX‐LPA Axis Overcomes TKI Resistance and Immunosuppression in Renal Cell Carcinoma via Dual Inhibition of AKT/mTOR and TBK1/IRF3 Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic resistance limits durable survival in advanced/metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) treated with first‐line tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) plus immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI). We sought to define key resistance drivers and actionable targets.

The role of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in the mechanisms of T-cell immune response dysregulation in colon cancer

open access: yesБюллетень сибирской медицины, 2020
The aim of the study was to characterize the features of the subpopulation composition and cytokine-secretory activity of T lymphocytes (Th1, Th17 and Treg) in relation to the concentration of galectin-1 and galectin-3 in the blood of patients with colon

Porcine kidney xenotransplantation: From primate models to clinical reality

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
In the face of a critical shortage of human donor kidneys for end‐stage renal disease patients, porcine kidney xenotransplantation has emerged as a viable solution. This field has navigated major hurdles, including immune rejection, physiological incompatibilities, potential biomechanical differences and the risk of cross‐species infection. To overcome

Some hematological characteristics of adenomyosis

open access: yesГинекология, 2013
In the given work are presented some hematological criteria of diagnostics of adenomyosis, is also explored opportunities to use the results of studies of the population composition of blood leukocytes and its relationship poly - and mononuclear cells in

Leukocytes Breach Endothelial Barriers by Insertion of Nuclear Lobes and Disassembly of Endothelial Actin Filaments

open access: yesCell Reports, 2017
The endothelial cytoskeleton is a barrier for leukocyte transendothelial migration (TEM). Mononuclear and polymorphonuclear leukocytes generate gaps of similar micron-scale size when squeezing through inflamed endothelial barriers in vitro and in vivo ...

Lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1 (LOX-1) supports adhesion of mononuclear leukocytes and a monocyte-like cell line THP-1 cells under static and flow conditions

open access: yes, 2002
Adhesion of mononuclear leukocytes to vascular endothelial cells appears one of the initial steps in the process of atherogenesis and inflammation. We examined if LOX-1, an endothelial scavenger receptor with C-type lectin-like structure, can support ...
