A Patient‐Specific 3D Printed Carotid Artery Model Integrating Vascular Structure, Flow, and Endothelium Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces the first miniaturized, patient‐specific carotid artery model created via 3D printing using GelMA with embedded vascular cells. Combining CFD, PIV, and flow perfusion, the model replicates anatomically dependent hemodynamics and cellular responses.

A Modular Perfusion Bioreactor Platform for Simulating Bone Regeneration and Fracture Healing: Integrating Mechanical Loading and Dual Perfusion for Advanced In Vitro Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A modular bioreactor platform was developed in order to replicate bone homeostasis and pathology, thereby integrating mechanical loading, dynamic perfusion, and a 3D‐printed microfluidic chamber. With precise control of environmental parameters and dual perfusion for composite tissue models, the system enhances physiological relevance for studying bone

Poly(hydroxy‐oxazolidone) Thermoplastic Elastomers for Safer, Greener and Customizable Blood‐Contacting Medical Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A poly(hydroxy‐oxazolidone) (PHOx) is synthesized from CO2‐based precursors, enabling the up‐cycling of this waste material. After synthesis, PHOx shows thermoplastic properties, and can therefore be processed by many temperature‐dependent techniques. PHOx is hemocompatible, anti‐adhesive, and biocompatible, which is demonstrated in vitro and in vivo ...

The Effects of a Session of Aerobic and Anaerobic Exercise on Leukocytes, And Hormonal Responses in Young Women

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Sport Science, 2017
Background. Exercises with different intensities can cause changes in immune system factors and hormonal acute response. These changes may exceed the permissible limitations and weaken the system. Objectives.

Plaque‐Targeted Delivery of Fluoride‐Free MXene Nanozyme for Alleviating Atherosclerosis via Sonocatalytic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has developed a dual enzyme‐mimicking and ultrasound‐responsive Nb2C‐Pt@HA‐PEG nanozyme. ROS‐eliminating and antiinflammatory capability of Nb2C‐Pt@HA‐PEG under US irradiation are demonstrated on macrophages and endothelial cells in vitro. Nb2C‐Pt@HA‐PEG‐mediated sonocatalytic therapy exerts an outstanding anti‐atherosclerosis efficacy by ...

Effectiveness Test of 96% Ethanol Extract of Black Cumin Seeds (Nigella sativa Linn., Al-Habbah As-Sauda') on Wound Healing and Leukocyte Levels in White Rats (Rattus norvegicus)

open access: yesMedisains
Background: Wounds are skin damage that affects the body's protective functions and requires a complex healing process. The utilization of medicinal plants, such as black cumin (Nigella sativa Linn.), has been widely recognized for its antiseptic, anti ...
