Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A scaling approach to project regional sea level rise and its uncertainties [PDF]
Climate change causes global mean sea level to rise due to thermal expansion of seawater and loss of land ice from mountain glaciers, ice caps and ice sheets.

Review of research on ice loading of offshore structures in level ice fields
The physical and mechanical properties of sea ice and the failure modes of ice sheets significantly affect the ice loading of offshore structures. This paper first introduces the physical and mechanical characteristics of sea ice, then describes the ...

The Grounding of an Ice Shelf in the Central Arctic Ocean: A Modeling Experiment [PDF]
A numerical ice sheet model was used in a first test towards evaluating the hypothesis that, during a period of large-scale glaciation, an ice shelf emanating from the Barents/Kara Seas grounded across parts of the Lomonosov Ridge to a depth of around ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Impact of Daily Arctic Sea Ice Variability in CAM3.0 during Fall and Winter [PDF]
Climate projections suggest that an ice-free summer Arctic Ocean is possible within several decades and with this comes the prospect of increased ship traffic and safety concerns.

The northern sector of the last British ice sheet : maximum extent and demise [PDF]
Strongly divided opinion has led to competing, apparently contradictory, views on the timing, extent, flow configuration and decay mechanism of the last British Ice Sheet.
