USING ELECTRICAL IMPEDANCE TOMOGRAPHY IN LINEAR ARRAYS OF MEASUREMENT

open access: yesInformatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska, 2017
The article presents an application to the topology optimization in electrical impedance tomography using the level set method. The level set function is based on shape and topology optimization for areas with partly continuous conductivities. The finite

Topology Optimization of Free Damping Treatments on Plates Using Level Set Method

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2020
Application of level set method to optimize the topology of free damping treatments on plates is investigated. The objective function is defined as a combination of several desired modal loss factors solved by the finite element-modal strain energy ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Effect of natural frequency modes on sloshing phenomenon in a rectangular tank

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2015
Liquid sloshing in two-dimensional (2-D) and three-dimensional (3-D) rectangular tanks is simulated by using a level set method based on the finite volume method. In order to examine the effect of natural frequency modes on liquid sloshing, we considered

Robust Rigid Shape Registration Method Using a Level Set Formulation

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents a fast algorithm for robust registration of shapes implicitly represented by signed distance functions(SDF). The proposed algorithm aims to recover the transformation parameters( scaling, rotation, and translation) by minimizing the ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Level set method for solving Poisson's equation with discontinuous nonlinearities

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
We study semi-linear elliptic free boundary problems in which the forcing term is discontinuous; i.e., a Poisson's equation where the forcing term is the Heaviside function applied to the unknown minus a constant.

HYBRID TECHNIQUES TO SOLVE OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS IN EIT

open access: yesInformatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska, 2017
This paper presents the hybrid algorithm for identification the unknown shape of an interface to solve the inverse problem in electrical impedance tomography. The conductivity values in different regions are determined by the finite element method.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
