An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Determining candidate polyp morphology from CT colonography using a level-set method [PDF]
In this paper we propose a level-set segmentation for polyp candidates in Computer Tomography Colongraphy (CTC). Correct classification of the candidate polyps into polyp and non-polyp is, in most cases, evaluated using shape features.

A Level Set Method for Image Restoration
This paper presents a level set method for image restoration. In the light of the loss of image quality caused by occlusion or part stain, it adopts the method of picking-up image level sets and filling in level sets of occlusion to reconstruct the image.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Image Segmentation Based on Level Set Method
Level set method can be effectively used to solve topology problems during the evolution of curves while the previous algorithms cannot deal with them. In recent years, there are many image segmentation algorithms based on level set method. For different

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

A Continuous Skeletonization Method Based on Level Sets.
A robust and efficient method in 2D and 3D for the calculation of skeletons for arbitrary objects is presented. The method is based on the calculation of the distance function with respect to the object boundary. This is combined, in a post processing step, with a new indicator to identify the skeleton, which coincides with the singularity set of the ...

Flame Front Detection and Curvature Calculation Using Level Set
A level set method is proposed for flame front detection and curvature calculation on turbulent premixed OH Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence (OH-PLIF) images. The Flame front on an OH-PLIF image is detected by our proposed curve evolution model. In this

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
