Effects of 2-hydroxy-4(methylthio) butanoic acid isopropyl ester on rumen fermentation in cashmere goats [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2013
The impact of dietary 2-hydroxy-4-(methylthio) butyric acid isopropyl ester (HMBi) on rumen fermentation in cashmere goats was investigated to determine the effect of this ester on cashmere production.

LGALS3 promotes the proliferation of Liaoning Cashmere goat skin fibroblasts by regulating the expression of PIEZO1

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) plays a role in the reconstruction of hair follicles and in the formation and growth of cashmere fibres. One cashmere growth-associated lncRNA was successfully screened out at the early stage in the laboratory, which was ...

Proteomic analysis of coarse and fine skin tissues of Liaoning cashmere goat [PDF]

open access: yesFunctional & Integrative Genomics, 2021
Abstract Proteomics is the study of all proteins expressed by a cell or even an organism. However, knowledge of proteins that regulate the fineness of cashmere is limited. Liaoning Cashmere goat (LCG) is a valuable genetic resource of China.

Ecogroups and maternal haplogroups reveal the ancestral origin of native Chinese goat populations based on the variation of mtDNA D‐loop sequences

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
Native Chinese goat breeds were mainly divided into three haplogroups: HapA, HapB, and HapC, originated from five, one, and two maternal ancestors, respectively, and were associated with the ecogroups. The goat populations expanded in the different ecoregions. The relative evolutionary rate of goat mtDNA D‐loop differed among the ecogroups.

Polymorphisms in the ASMT and ADAMTS1 gene may increase litter size in goats

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 6, Issue 4, Page 775-787, November 2020., 2020
ASMT (acetylserotonin O‐methyltransferase) and ADAMTS1 (ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif) are very important for female and animal reproduction. One mutation (g.158122T>C) of ASMT gene and one mutation (g.7979477C>T) of ADAMTS1 gene were found in goats in this study, and the association between polymorphisms of ASMT or ADAMTS1 ...

Goat Genomic Resources: The Search for Genes Associated with Its Economic Traits

open access: yesInternational Journal of Genomics, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Goat plays a crucial role in human livelihoods, being a major source of meat, milk, fiber, and hides, particularly under adverse climatic conditions. The goat genomics related to the candidate gene approach is now being used to recognize molecular mechanisms that have different expressions of growth, reproductive, milk, wool, and disease resistance ...

The inheritance of fibre traits in a crossbred population of cashmere goats [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Genetic parameters were calculated for fibre traits measured on patch samples taken at 5 months of age on a crossbred population of cashmere goats, comprising goats of Scottish feral, Icelandic, Tasmanian, New Zealand and Siberian origin.

Expression of the GPRC5D gene in Liaoning Cashmere goats

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF VETERINARY AND ANIMAL SCIENCES, 2014
This study aimed to characterize the expression the GPRC5D gene in the skin of the Liaoning Cashmere goat. Initially, the GPRC5D gene sequence was subjected to bioinformatics analysis. Second, semiquantitative RT-PCR was used to detect GPRC5D gene expression in the tissues.
