Study on the aging of three typical rubber materials under high- and low-temperature cyclic environment

open access: yese-Polymers, 2023
As the key components of sealing applications, rubber seals are subject to complicated environmental conditions during the service lifetime. In this study, the aging of three typical rubber materials, ethylene–propylene–diene monomer rubber, liquid ...

Lifetime needle sharing: A predictive analysis

open access: yesJournal of Substance Abuse Treatment, 1994
Through understanding predictors of needle sharing, it may be possible to design AIDS prevention interventions more effectively. Data were collected from a sample of 416 patients in two New York City methadone programs in 1990. Questions were asked about needle sharing and about a battery of predictors covering 11 psychosocial domains.

Prognostic Value of Neurofilament Light Chain and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein in ALD‐Related Myelopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X‐ALD) is a neurometabolic disorder caused by pathogenic variants in ABCD1, leading to slowly progressive spinal cord disease in nearly all affected men. Sensitive biomarkers to quantify disease severity and predict progression are needed for clinical care and trial design.

Combining Three Peripheral Blood Biomarkers to Stratify Rheumatoid Arthritis–Associated Interstitial Lung Disease Risk

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The purpose was to evaluate a biomarker score consisting of MUC5B rs35705950 promoter variant, plasma matrix metalloproteinase‐7 (MMP‐7), and serum anti–malondialdehyde‐acetaldehyde (anti‐MAA) antibody for rheumatoid arthritis (RA)–associated interstitial lung disease (ILD) risk stratification.

Lifetime Evaluation of Traction Converter IGBT Based on Operating Conditions and Component Aging

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2022
IGBT's lifetime is greatly influenced by the operation conditions of train and the current aging degree of IGBT. However, the influences of train operation conditions and current life of an IGBT on the life assessment are normally not considered.

Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship among cumulative social disadvantage ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for
