Antibacterial activities of Ligaria cuneifolia and Jodina rhombifolia leaf extracts against phytopathogenic and clinical bacteria.

open access: yesJournal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2014
Six plant extracts prepared from Ligaria cuneifolia and Jodina rhombifolia were screened for their potential antimicrobial activities against phytopathogens and clinically standard reference bacterial strains. Bioautography and broth microdilution methods were used to study samples antibacterial activities against 7 bacterial strains.

Anatomical, Phytochemical and Immunochemical Studies on Ligaria cuneifolia (R. et P.) Tiegh (Loranthaceae) [PDF]

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 1998
Ligaria cuneifolia (R. et P.) Tiegh (Loranthaceae) is an hemiparasite species widely distributed in several provinces of Argentina. It has been commonly used in folk medicine as a substitute of the European mistetloe (Viscum album L.) based on its putative depressive effect on high blood pressure.

Pharmacological and Cardiovascular Aspects of Ligaria cuneifolia Infusions

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2004
Ligaria cuneifolia (R. et P.) Tiegh. (Loranthaceae), known as "Argentine mistletoe," is used in folk medicine as a hypotensor. It is a hemiparasite, so the pharmacological actions could be influenced by the host plant on which it grows. This survey shows that the decrease of blood pressure appears secondarily, after increasing it.

Evaluation of Hemorrheologic Parameters and Biliary Secretion in Ligaria cuneifolia (Argentine mistletoe) Extract-Treated Rats [PDF]

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2001
Ligaria cuneifolia (R. et P.) Tiegh. (Loranthaceae) (Argentine mistletoe) is usually used in local folk medicine “to produce an increase of blood fluidity and a decrease of plasma cholesterol level”.
