Light-induced degradation on porous silicon

Physical Review B, 1993
A study of photoluminescence degradation profiles in porous silicon as a function of time, temperature, and excitation intensity is reported. It is found that the degradation of the photoluminescence follows a stretched exponential function with the stretching parameter and the relaxation-time constant independent of the measured temperatures.

Light induced degradation of testosterone in waters

Science of The Total Environment, 2010
The degradation of testosterone under simulated irradiations was studied in phosphate buffers and in natural waters at various excitation wavelengths. The quantum yield of photolysis was significantly lower at 313 nm (2.4 x 10(-3)) than at 254 nm (0.225).

Particle and light-induced luminescence degradation in a-SiC:H

Applied Surface Science, 2001
Although a-SiC:H is a promising material for the fabrication of visible light emitting devices, their performance are easily degraded by charged particle or light irradiation. We report on this effect induced by H and He ions and by light of different wavelengths.

Light-induced protein degradation in human-derived cells

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2017
Controlling protein degradation can be a valuable tool for posttranslational regulation of protein abundance to study complex biological systems. In the present study, we designed a light-switchable degron consisting of a light oxygen voltage (LOV) domain of Avena sativa phototropin 1 (AsLOV2) and a C-terminal degron.

Light-induced degradation of DDT in humic water

Science of The Total Environment, 1995
Abstract Humic water, spiked with DDT (13 nM), was subjected to ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 254 nm (UV254) and also to intense simulated sunlight. Sample extracts were analysed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry ( GC MS ), the mass spectrometer working in the selective ion monitoring mode.

Light-induced degradation of metsulfuron-methyl in water

Chemosphere, 2005
Photodegradation of metsulfuron-methyl, a sulfonylurea herbicide, has been investigated in aqueous solution at different pH and excitation wavelengths. The efficiency of the process has been evaluated through quantum yield determinations. The identification of the photoproducts indicates that the major photochemical pathway is initiated by C-S bond ...

Light-induced degradation of dimethylmercury in different natural waters

Journal of Hazardous Materials
Photo-induced degradation of dimethylmercury (DMHg) is considered to be an important source for the generation of methylmercury (MMHg). However, studies on DMHg photodegradation are scarce, and it is even debatable about whether DMHg can be degraded in natural waters.

Solar Light Induced Degradation of Reactive Dye Using Photocatalysis

Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A, 2004
Outdoors experiment with natural solar light instead of using artificial UV light was also conducted to investigate alternative energy source applicability on organics degradation. The results of this study were as follows. Degradation of the reactive dye, Red 120, with TiO2/solar light was enhanced by augmentation in TiO2 loading, and UV light ...

Light-induced degradation of perfluorocarboxylic acids in the presence of titanium dioxide

Chemosphere, 2007
The UV-photon-induced degradation of heptafluorobutanoic acid was investigated in acidic aqueous solutions in the presence of titanium dioxide. Heptafluorobutanoic acid could be degraded with this photocatalyst in a light-induced reaction generating carbon dioxide and fluoride anions.

Theory of light-induced degradation in perovskite solar cells

Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 2020
Abstract One of the fundamental challenges that have prevented practical use of the perovskite solar cell is the current degradation in exposure conditions, causing instability of the power conversion efficiency. We present here a theory for this current degradation in perovskite solar cells.
