BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Research on the Influence of Moisture State, Microscopic Morphology and Physical Properties of the Resting Dough

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
To study the effect of resting on the quality of frozen dough, the changes in the moisture state of the dough during the resting process (0, 30, 60, 90, 120 min), the moisture distribution of dough and their effects on ice crystal distribution ...

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Illuminating the Characteristics and Assembly of Prokaryotic Communities across a pH Gradient in Pit Muds for the Production of Chinese Strong-Flavor Baijiu

open access: yesFoods
Pit mud (PM), as an important source of microorganisms, is necessary for Chinese strong-flavor baijiu (CSFB) production. Although it has been revealed that the PM prokaryotic community diversities are influenced by its quality, product area, ages, etc ...

Increasing myosin light chain 3f (MLC3f) protects against a decline in contractile velocity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Disuse induces adaptations in skeletal muscle, which lead to muscle deterioration. Hindlimb-unloading (HU) is a well-established model to investigate cellular mechanisms responsible for disuse-induced skeletal muscle dysfunction.

Fingolimod and CSF neurofilament light chain levels in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis

open access: yesNeurology, 2015
Objective: We assessed CSF levels of the light chain subunit of neurofilaments (NfL) at baseline and after fingolimod therapy or placebo in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS).

Chimeric diphtheria toxin–CCL8 cytotoxic peptide for breast cancer management

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
DTCCL8 is a recombinant fusion toxin that targets cancer cells expressing chemokine receptors. By combining diphtheria toxin with CCL8, DTCCL8 binds to multiple receptors on tumor cells and induces selective cytotoxicity. This strategy enables receptor‐mediated targeting of cancer and may support the development of chemokine‐guided therapeutics ...

Functional immunoglobulin transgenes guide ordered B-cell differentiation in Rag-1-deficient mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We have examined the regulatory role of the individual components of the immunoglobulin antigen receptor in B-cell development by transgenic complementation of Rag-1 deficient (Rag-1⁻) mice. Complementation with a membrane µ heavy chain (µHC) gene allows
