Photoelectric Observations and Analysis of the Contact Binary W UMa [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2001
The unpublished photoelectric observations of the contact binary W UMa in ultraviolet, blue, and yellow bandpasses made on four nights during the observing seasons from April, 1984 to May, 1985 were presented.

Light curves analysis of AB Andromedae

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, 1986
AbstractThe new B and V light curves of the eclipsing variable AB And obtained during 1979 are analysed. Frequency Domain techniques is used and new geometric and photometric elements are given.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

The absolute infrared magnitudes of type Ia supernovae

open access: yes, 2000
The absolute luminosities and homogeneity of early-time infrared (IR) light curves of type Ia supernovae are examined. Eight supernovae are considered.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Physics-driven Explosions of Stripped High-mass Stars: Synthetic Light Curves and Spectra of Stripped-envelope Supernovae with Broad Light Curves

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Stripped-envelope supernovae (SESNe) represent a significant fraction of core-collapse supernovae, arising from massive stars that have shed their hydrogen and, in some cases, helium envelopes. The origins and explosion mechanisms of SESNe remain a topic

Photometric and Radial Velocity Curves Analyses of the Triple System τ Tauri [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1995
New UBVRI observations of triple star τ Tau were at Chungbuk National University Observatory for 31 nights from Dec. 1990 to Jan. 1994. A total of 2930 photometric observations were obtained with 586 points for each filters, and BVRI light curves were ...

Modeling quasar variability through self-organizing map-based neural process [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal
Conditional Neural Process (QNPy) has shown to be a good tool for modeling quasar light curves. However, given the complex nature of the source and hence the data represented by light curves, processing could be time-consuming.

Visibility-Based Demodulation of Rhessi Light Curves

open access: yes, 2004
The Reuven Ramaty High Energy Spectroscopic Solar Imager (RHESSI) uses the rotational modulation principle to observe temporally, spatially, and spectrally resolved hard X ray and gamma ray images of solar flares. In order to track the flare evolution on
