Moiré-free and high-resolution light field 3D display based on random parallax barrier

open access: yesJPhys Photonics
Flat-panel three-dimensional (3D) displays, which rely on light-control elements (such as lenticular sheets or parallax barriers) to redirect pixels and reconstruct 3D light fields, often suffer from display artifacts like moiré, crosstalk, and ratio ...

Resolution Improvement in Near-Virtual-Image-Mode Light-Field Display Using Resolution-Priority Technique

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A light-field display with a near-virtual-image mode, which employs both a lens array and an aperture array, was previously proposed to provide a wide viewing zone angle and bright three-dimensional (3D) images.

3D Display System Based on Spherical Wave Field Synthesis

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
We present a novel concept and first experimental results of a new type of 3D display, which is based on the synthesis of spherical waves. The setup comprises a lens array (LA) with apertures in the millimeter range and a liquid crystal display (LCD ...

Weakening the nuclear envelope: Lamin B receptor in melanoma metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LBR‐driven nuclear fragility supports melanoma invasion. A: Melanocyte presents low LBR (Lamin B Receptor) levels, maintaining nuclear integrity and lamina‐chromatin tethering. B: During malignant progression, upregulation of LBR clusters at the INM (Inner Nuclear Membrane) during confined migration causes local lamina weakening and cholesterol ...

Computational light field display for correcting visual aberrations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Vision problems such as near-sightedness, far-sightedness, as well as others, are due to optical aberrations in the human eye. These conditions are prevalent, and the population is growing rapidly.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Design for 360-degree 3D light-field camera and display [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
© 2018 The Author(s). A 360-degree 3D light-field acquisition and display system is proposed. Unlike conventional setups, recording and displaying rectangular volumes, proposed configuration captures and displays a cylindrical volume.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...
