The MOV10 Helicase Inhibits LINE-1 Mobility [PDF]
LINE-1 (long interspersed element 1) is an autonomous non-long terminal repeat retrotransposon. Its replication often causes mutation and rearrangement of host genomic DNA. Accordingly, host cells have evolved mechanisms to control LINE-1 mobility. Here, we report that a helicase named MOV10 effectively suppresses LINE-1 transposition.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Effects of Particulate Matter on Genomic DNA Methylation Content and iNOS Promoter Methylation [PDF]
Background: Altered patterns of gene expression mediate the effects of particulate matter (PM) on human health, but mechanisms through which PM modifies gene expression are largely undetermined. Objectives We aimed at identifying short- and long-term ...

Mixing state of oxalic acid containing particles in the rural area of Pearl River Delta, China: implications for the formation mechanism of oxalic acid [PDF]
The formation of oxalic acid and its mixing state in atmospheric particulate matter (PM) were studied using a single-particle aerosol mass spectrometer (SPAMS) in the summer and winter of 2014 in Heshan, a supersite in the rural area of the Pearl ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Analisis Kontingensi Sistem Tenaga Listrik Dengan Metode Bounding [PDF]
The bounding method is one of the contingency analysis method for detecting branch flow violations. Three subnetworks in the bounding method namely N1, N2, and N3 will give information regarding those subnetworks that may not go overload and those that ...

Heavy Metals Stimulate Human LINE-1 Retrotransposition [PDF]
L1 and Alu elements are among the most active retroposons (mobile elements) in the human genome. Several human diseases, including certain forms of breast cancer and leukemia, are associated with L1 and Alu insertions in functionally important areas of the genome.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...
