In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Wave hydrodynamic forces over mooring lines on floating offshore wind turbines
The mooring loading of floating offshore wind turbines are mainly induced by the platform motions through the fairleads. The dynamic analysis usually only considers the hydrodynamic forces over the mooring by the motion of the line disregarding the wave ...

Contact Angle Profiles for Droplets on Omniphilic Surfaces in the Presence of Tangential Forces
In real life, sessile droplets usually have a three-dimensional shape, making it difficult to understand their forced wetting behavior, both from an experimental and a theoretical perspective.

Critical Casimir Effect in 3He-4He films
Universal aspects of the thermodynamic Casimir effect in wetting films of 3He-4He mixtures near their bulk tricritical point are studied within suitable models serving as representatives of the corresponding universality class.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

During metastatic dissemination, circulating tumour cells (CTCs) enter capillary beds, where they experience mechanical constriction forces. The transient and persistent effects of these forces on CTCs behaviour remain poorly understood.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Vortex-Induced Vibration Tests of a Marine Growth Wrapped Cylinder at Subcritical Reynolds Number
Vortex Induced Vibrations (VIV) may cause great damage to deep water risers. Estimation of accurate hydrodynamic coefficients and response amplitudes for fouled tubular cylinders subjected to VIVs is a complex task.

Forces at superhydrophobic and superamphiphobic surfaces
Forces exerted at surfaces and interphases due to formation of gaseous (air or vapor) bridges describe the extreme liquid repellence in superhydrophobicity (SH) and amphiphobicity.
