Photon redistribution effects on spectral line formation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Spectral line formation is examined in simple model atmospheres when there are deviations from complete redistribution in photon frequency and direction.

Line-of-sight guidance laws for formation flight

open access: yes, 2005
Two-dimensional formation guidance laws for formation flight using only line-of-sight angle information are addressed. The main idea is to use the line-of-sight angles to two nearby vehicles to maintain the formation position of the current vehicle. Such

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The coronal line region of active galactic nuclei

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
Forbidden coronal lines has traditionally called the attention due to the high-energy photons required for their production (IP >100 eV, where IP is the ionisation potential of the transitions that originate the line).

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Line and V-Shape Formation Based Distributed Processing for Robotic Swarms

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Efficient distributed processing is vital for collaborative searching tasks of robotic swarm systems. Typically, those systems are decentralized, and the members have only limited communication and processing capacities. What is illustrated in this paper

The clustering of galaxies in hierarchical galaxy formation models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Galaxy clustering encodes information about the values of cosmological parameters and also about the physical processes behind galaxy formation and evolution. The GALFORM semi-analytical model is the theoretical approach we used to model galaxy formation.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

The location and kinematics of the emission line regions in Active Galactic Nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis contains the results from a study of the optical emission lines of various samples of active galactic nuclei (AGN). We have used three separate techniques to determine the precise kinematics and the relative location of the emission line ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
