A sensitive search for CO J=1-0 emission in 4C 41.17: high-excitation molecular gas at z=3.8 [PDF]
We report sensitive imaging observations of the CO J=1-0 line emission in the powerful high-redshift radio galaxy 4C 41.17 (z=3.8) with the NRAO Very Large Array (VLA), conducted in order to detect the large concomitant H_2 gas reservoir recently ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Hydrogen Balmer line formation in solar flares affected by return currents
Aims. We investigate the effect of the electric return currents in solar flares on the profiles of hydrogen Balmer lines. We consider the monoenergetic approximation for the primary beam and runaway model of the neutralizing return current.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Vehicle Formation Scheme for Wuxi Metro Line 5
Objective To somewhat address the issues of low passenger load factor, high operating cost, and excessive reliance on government subsidies in medium-sized urban rail transit network, taking Wuxi Metro Line 5 as example, a formation scheme of new line ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Heat Line formation in a roll caster
A steady state two dimensional finite difference model has been developed to describe the roll casting process. The model explains the formation of the speed limiting defects called ‘Heat Lines’. The results of subsequent casting speed trials are compared with the predictions made by the numerical model.

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Influence of line isolation overlappings on formation of lightning overvoltages [PDF]
The model of substation protection against lightning waves with considered multiple overlappings of line isolation has been presented. Influence of multiple overlapping of isolation on line support on formation of lightning overvoltages has been shown ...

The true mass-loss rates from massive stars are important for many branches of astrophysics. For the correct modeling of the resonance lines, which are among the key diagnostics of stellar mass-loss, the stellar wind clumping turned out to be very ...
