ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

Priming of Pop-Out Does not Affect the Shooting Line Illusion [PDF]
We combined a shooting-line illusion with a visual search pop-out task in an effort to determine whether priming of pop-out was due to acceleratcd processing of visual information in the primed dimension.

Comparison of pure and combined search strategies for single and multiple targets
We address the generic problem of random search for a point-like target on a line. Using the measures of search reliability and efficiency to quantify the random search quality, we compare Brownian search with L\'evy search based on long-tailed jump ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

X-ray Line Emitting Objects in XMM-Newton Observations: the Tip of the Iceberg
We present preliminary results from a novel search for X-ray Line Emitting Objects (XLEOs) in XMM-Newton images. Three sources have been detected in a test-run analysis of 13 XMM-Newton observations.

Synthetically-focused surface-penetrating radar for operation from a moving vehicle [PDF]
This paper reports on a research programme, started recently under DERA sponsorship, on applying synthetic focusing to an oblong horizontal stand-off array, where all the voxels in a vertical slice underneath the centre-line of the array are synthesised ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

In this paper, three-step Taylor expansion, which is equivalent to third-order Taylor expansion, is used as a mathematical base of the new descent method. At each iteration of this method, three steps are performed.

An Efficient Line Search Algorithm for Large Scale Optimization [PDF]
In this work we present a new algorithm of gradient descent type, in which the stepsize is computed by means of simple approximation of the Hessian Matrix to solve nonlinear unconstrained optimization function.
