Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Non-Linear Approximations in Linear Cryptanalysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
By considering the role of non-linear approximatioris in linear cryptanalysis we obtain a generalization of Matsui's linear cryptanalytic techniques. This approach allows Ihe cryptanalyst greater flexibility in mounting a linear cryptanalytic attack and we demonstrate the effectiveness of our non-linear techniques with some simple attacks on LOK191 ...

On transitive linear semigroups

open access: yes
This paper deals with semigroups of linear transformations which act transitively on a finite-dimensional vector space. An explicit canonical form is obtained for the semigroups which lack proper transitive left ideals.

Generalized quadraticity of linear combination of two generalized quadratic matrices

open access: yes, 2015
It is investigated the necessary and sufficient conditions for the generalized quadraticity of a linear combination of any two generalized quadratic matrices.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Chapter 5 Linear Logic Programming

open access: yes, 2007
s depending on the characteristics of the language. A program in this setting is simply a collection of propositions that, through their form, will lead the proof search engine down a particular path, thereby achieving a particular computation.

Linear preservers and quantum information science

open access: yes, 2013
In this article, a brief survey of recent results on linear preserver problems and quantum information science is given. In addition, characterization is obtained for linear operators φ on mn × mn Hermitian matrices such that φ(A ⊗ B) and A ⊗ B have the ...

Chaos Suppression in Fractional Order Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and PI controlled Induction motor by Extended Back stepping Control

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2016
In this paper we investigate the control of three-dimensional non-autonomous fractional-order model of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and PI controlled fractional order Induction motor via recursive extended back stepping control technique ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Valley polarization of graphene via the saddle point

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials
Graphene, and other members of the monolayer Xene family, represent an ideal materials platform for “valleytronics”, the control of valley localized charge excitations.
