A simple and low-cost integrative sensor system for methane and hydrogen measurement
Energy production by methanization or gasification of biomass is dependant on the chemical composition of the gas generated. The resistive sensors based on semiconductor metal oxides, like the MQ series sensors, are inexpensive and frequently used in gas

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

The pyruvate generator, which causes activation of respiration by extra‐mitochondrial Ca2+, is also present and functional in rat brainstem mitochondria, as it is in other brain regions. This finding is confirmed by experiments with a fully reconstituted malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS).

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The Goursat problem for hyperbolic linear third order equations
The third order hyperbolic linear differential equation is considered in the non‐cylindrical domain of multidimensional Euclidean space. The equation operator is a composition of a differentiation operator of the first order and second order operator ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Cyclic behavior of linear fractional composition operators [PDF]
Let \(\mathbb{C}\) denote the plane of complex numbers, and for real number \(v\), and analytic functions \(f\), \(g\) representable as \[ f(z)= \sum\{a_nz^n, n= 0,1,2,\dots\},\quad g(z)= \sum\{b_n z^n, n= 0,1,\dots,\}, \] let \((f|g)_v= \sum\{(a_n b_n(n+ 1)^{2v}, n= 0,1,\dots\}\), \(\|f\|^2_v= \sum\{|a_n|^2(n+ 1)^{2v}, n= 0,1,2,\dots\}\).
