A Model-Based Extended State Observer for Discrete-Time Linear Multivariable Systems
A model-based extended state observer (MB-ESO) and its variant are proposed for discrete-time linear multivariable systems, where multiple disturbances are defined as an extended state vector in the same manner as in the original formulation of ESO. The variant MB-ESO extends the MB-ESO to address cases where the disturbance gain matrix is non-diagonal.

Novel Active Disturbance Rejection Control Based on Nested Linear Extended State Observers
In this paper, a Novel Active Disturbance Rejection Control (N-ADRC) strategy is proposed that replaces the Linear Extended state observer (LESO) used in Conventional ADRC (C-ADRC) with a Nested LESO. In the nested LESO, the inner-loop LESO actively estimates and eliminates the generalized disturbance.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A type of automated manual transmission gearshift system that uses two linear actuators to perform gearshift events is presented. The shifting mechanism can be made simpler by using linear actuator to drive the shift fork directly. The mathematical model

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
