LESO Based Dynamic Surface Control for Hypersonic Flight Vehicle

open access: yes, 2018
In the presence of model parametric uncertainties and external disturbances, a LESO-based dynamic surface control approach is designed for the longitudinal model of Hypersonic Flight Vehicle (HFV).

Betwixt playing the waiting game and waiting in vain: Temporal governance and the thin alignment of care under universal health coverage in Kenya

open access: yesMedical Anthropology Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract This article investigates how Kenyan citizens access healthcare within the framework of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) reforms. Based on ethnographic fieldwork, it reconceptualizes waiting as a politically structured phenomenon rather than a simple delay. The analysis shows that UHC reforms do not eliminate waiting but instead redistribute it,

Model‐free predictive control of non‐isolated two‐stage AC–DC–DC converter based on linear extended state observer

open access: yes, 2022
The conventional model predictive control (MPC) method of the non-isolated two-stage AC-DC-DC converter has poor robustness and dynamic characteristics under conditions of model mismatch, external disturbance, and load disturbance. To solve this problem,

Spaceflight and sport science: Physiological monitoring and countermeasures for the astronaut–athlete on Mars exploration missions

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Long‐duration spaceflight impacts essentially every system in the human body, resulting in multisystem deconditioning that might impair the health and performance of crewmembers, particularly on long‐duration exploration missions to Mars. In this review, we apply the sport science model of athlete monitoring, testing and training to astronauts;

Physical Fitness and Device‐Based Moderate‐to‐Vigorous Physical Activity and Risk of Long‐Term Sickness Absence—A Prospective Cohort Study With 8‐Year Follow‐Up

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 26, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT We examined the association of physical fitness (PF) and accelerometer‐based moderate‐to‐vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA) with long‐term sickness absence (LTSA) incidence over an 8‐year of follow‐up in Finnish working‐age population.

New Double Closed Loop Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control of Energy Storage Grid-Connected Inverter Based on Lead-Lag Correction Link

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The energy storage grid-connected inverter system is a complex system with strong nonlinearity and strong coupling, which quality and efficiency of grid-connection are affected by factors such as grid voltage fluctuations and model uncertainty.

Sleep Traits and Cognitive Function: A Prospective Cohort Study With Exploration of Inflammatory Biomarkers

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Although sleep disturbance is closely linked to cognitive impairment, the specific sleep‐related characteristics driving this deficit remain undetermined, with the mechanistic contribution of biomarkers also poorly characterized.

Output Feedback Control via Linear Extended State Observer for an Uncertain Manipulator with Output Constraints and Input Dead-Zone

open access: yes, 2020
This paper proposes an output feedback controller with a linear extended state observer (LESO) for an n-degree-of-freedom (n-DOF) manipulator under the presence of external disturbance, an input dead-zone, and time-varying output constraints.

Century‐long trends in plant diversity of temperate mountain vegetation are modulated along elevation gradient

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
Resurvey studies in mountain forests of the Tatra Mountains (Central Europe) show that plant diversity has increased over the past century, particularly at lower elevations. These shifts were associated more with increased nitrogen deposition and reduced grazing pressure than with direct climate warming.
