Logarithms and Square Roots of Real Matrices [PDF]
The need for computing logarithms or square roots of real matrices arises in a number of applied problems. A significant class of problems comes from medical imaging.

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

The D’Alembert Inevitability Theorem
We study functions satisfying the composition law F(xy)+F(x/y)=P(F(x),F(y)) with a symmetric polynomial combiner P. We prove that symmetry together with a quadratic degree bound on P forces a composition law of d’Alembert type.

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Life testing in controlled environmental conditions [PDF]
The basic problem considered is the evaluation of a physical system operating under environmental stresses with respect to the time of trouble free operation.

Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Finite Field Linear Algebra Subroutines Jean-Guillaume Dumas [PDF]
In this paper we study different implementations of finite field arithmetic, essential foundation of computer algebra. We focus on Galois fields of word size cardinality at most, with any characteristic.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
