Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

A boundary value problem for nonlinear differential equation with arbitrary functions

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Математика сериясы, 2017
This article describes a semi-batch nonlinear boundary value problem for differential equations with partial derivatives. The equations containing arbitrary parameters were considered in Whitham G.B.

Stochastic maximum principle for optimal control of a class of nonlinear SPDEs with dissipative drift

open access: yes, 2015
We prove a version of the stochastic maximum principle, in the sense of Pontryagin, for the finite horizon optimal control of a stochastic partial differential equation driven by an infinite dimensional additive noise.

A unified existence theory for evolution equations and systems under nonlocal conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the effect of nonlocal conditions expressed by linear continuous mappings over the hypotheses which guarantee the existence of global mild solutions for functional-differential equations in a Banach space. A progressive transition from the

Characterizations of Positive Linear Functional Differential Equations

open access: yesFunkcialaj Ekvacioj, 2007
In this paper, we first prove that if a linear neutral functional differential equation is positive then it must degrade into a linear functional differential equation of retarded type. Then, we give some explicit criteria for positive linear functional differential equations.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Holomorphic solutions to linear first-order functional differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
In this paper we study holomorphic solutions to linear first-order functional differential equations that have a nonlinear functional argument. We focus on the existence of local solutions at a fixed point of the functional argument and the holomorphic ...

Asymptotic Comparison of the Solutions of Linear Time-Delay Systems with Point and Distributed Lags with Those of Their Limiting Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2009
This paper investigates the relations between the particular eigensolutions of a limiting functional differential equation of any order, which is the nominal (unperturbed) linear autonomous differential equations, and the associate ones of the ...

Asymptotic behavior of solutions of some functional differential equations by Schauder's theorem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2004
In a series of papers (Burton-Furumochi [1-4]) we have studied stability properties of functional differential equations by means of fixed point theory.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
