Semi-linear diffusive representations for non-linear fractional differential systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The stability of non-linear fractional differential equations is studied. A sufficient stability condition on the non-linearity is given for the input-output stability, thanks to many different reformulations of the system using diffusive representations

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

A long-wave action of spin Hamiltonians and the inverse problem of the calculus of variations

open access: yes, 2003
We suggest a method of derivation of the long-wave action of the model spin Hamiltonians using the non-linear partial differential equations of motions of the individual spins.

On the homogenization of partial integro-differential-algebraic equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We present a Hilbert space perspective to homogenization of standard linear evolutionary boundary value problems in mathematical physics and provide a unified treatment for (non-)periodic homogenization problems in thermodynamics, elasticity, electro ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Theory of Functional Connections Applied to Linear Discontinuous Differential Equations

open access: yesMathematics
This article introduces two numerical methods based on the Theory of Functional Connections (TFC) for solving linear ordinary differential equations that involve step discontinuities in the forcing term. The novelty of the first proposed approach lies in

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Neutral Backward Stochastic Functional Differential Equations and Their Application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we are concerned with a new type of backward equations with anticipation which we call neutral backward stochastic functional differential equations. We obtain the existence and uniqueness and prove a comparison theorem.
