Cosine of angle and center of mass of an operator

open access: yes, 2010
We consider the notion of real center of mass and total center of mass of a bounded linear operator relative to another bounded linear operator and explore their relation with cosine and total cosine of a bounded linear operator acting on a complex ...

Comparing self‐reported race and genetic ancestry for identifying potential differentially methylated sites in endometrial cancer: insights from African ancestry proportions using machine learning models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Index theory for linear self-adjoint operator equations and nontrivial solutions for asymptotically linear operator equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
We will first establish an index theory for linear self-adjoint operator equations. And then with the help of this index theory we will discuss existence and multiplicity of solutions for asymptotically linear operator equations by making use of the dual variational methods and Morse theory.

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

Third-Order Fuzzy Subordination and Superordination on Analytic Functions on Punctured Unit Disk

open access: yesAxioms
This work’s theorems and corollaries present new third-order fuzzy differential subordination and superordination results developed by using a novel convolution linear operator involving the Gaussian hypergeometric function and a previously studied ...

Gaussian processes with linear operator inequality constraints

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents an approach for constrained Gaussian Process (GP) regression where we assume that a set of linear transformations of the process are bounded.

On operator inequalities and linear combinations of operators

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1991
AbstractLet A1,…,Ak,C,PϵB(H), the Banach algebra of all bounded linear operators on a complex Hilbert space H. It is shown that (1) A1PA∗1+⋯+AkPA∗ k⩾CPC∗ for all P⩾0 if and only if for every x in H there exist scalars a1(x),…,ak(x) with |a1(x)|2+⋯+|ak(x)|2⩽1 such that Cx=a1(x)A1x+⋯+ak(x)Akx; (2) A1PA∗1+A2PA∗2⩾CPC∗ for all P⩾0 if and only if C=aA1 +bA2 ...

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Tractability of Multivariate Problems for Standard and Linear Information in the Worst Case Setting: Part I [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
We present a lower error bound for approximating linear multivariate operators defined over Hilbert spaces in terms of the error bounds for appropriately constructed linear functionals as long as algorithms use function values. Furthermore, some of these linear functionals have the same norm as the linear operators.
