On the poles and zeros of linear, time-varying systems
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 2001Summary: Definition of poles and zeros are presented for continuous-time, linear, time-varying systems. For a linear, time-varying state equation, a set of time-varying poles defines a stability-preserving variable change relating the original state equation to an upper triangular state equation.

Frequency analysis of linear time-varying systems
2010 17th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2010This paper outlines a solution technique developed for frequency-domain analysis and synthesis of linear time-varying (LTV) systems. By an application of two-sided Laplace transform and two-dimensional Laplace Transform (2DLT), in general, the frequency-domain techniques are developed, which facilitate the analysis or synthesis of variable and adaptive

Remarks on Stability of Time-Varying Linear Systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2017The relationships between attractivity and asymptotic stability are fleshed out for homogeneous linear ordinary differential equations with time-varying coefficients.

Bifrequency characterization of linear time-varying systems
10th IEEE International NEWCAS Conference, 2012This paper presents a summary in the development of a bifrequency theory for the class of single-input single-output (SISO) linear time-varying (LTV) systems based on the classical two-dimensional Laplace transform (2DLT). The theory is a natural extension of the conventional operational calculus for multivariable functions and systems. Applications of

Commutant lifting for linear time-varying systems
2009 American Control Conference, 2009In this paper, we study two robust control problems for possibly infinite dimensional (i.e., systems with an infinite number of states) linear time-varying (LTV) systems using a framework based on a version of the commutant lifting theorem developed for nest algebras.

On the stability of slowly time-varying linear systems
Mathematics of Control, Signals, and Systems, 1994The author presents several interesting results on exponential stability of time-varying, finite-dimensional systems \(\dot x(t)= [A(t)+ P(t) ]x(t)\) provided the perturbation \(P(\cdot)\) is small and \(t\mapsto A(t)\) is slowly varying, bounded and the eigenvalues of \(A(t)\) remain ``on average'' strictly in the left-half complex plane.

A Transform Method for Linear Time-Varying Systems
Journal of Applied Physics, 1954This paper discusses a method for finding an integral transformation applicable to certain time-varying systems. Examples of transformations derived by the method, including Laplace, Mellin, and Meijer, are given. A convolution theorem for the general method is presented, and its use in general representation of time-varying systems is illustrated.
